Farmer’s market returns: Farmers are buying up the crops

Farmers are taking advantage of the fall in the price of corn, soybeans and other crops to stock up on cornmeal, grain sorghum, soybean meal, corn flour and other products, according to a survey by market research firm Market Research Partners.

The survey, conducted last week, also found that consumers are more than twice as likely to buy more than one product from a single retailer as they were in April.

That’s according to the survey, which is conducted on behalf of the Food and Drug Administration and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8 percentage points.
